    OUR STORY

    Why we built SHAKE

We started building AI in 2017, a few months after Google published the transformer paper that made today's AI possible. Most people had never heard the word. We built SkyHive on it, from scratch: real, applied AI, a living map of the world's work, skills and labor markets. Today it is used in more than 80 countries by hundreds of millions of people, and it powers the intelligence behind the world's biggest labor market systems.

Along the way we learned something that stayed with us. The most powerful thing we ever built was real-time intelligence about the real world, and the only people who could afford it were the largest organizations on the planet. That is the problem we could not put down. So we are doing it again, with a different goal: intelligence for everyone.

    The intelligence gap

Every transformative technology has followed the same pattern. It took something reserved for the few and gave it to everyone. The printing press did it for information. The personal computer did it for computation. The smartphone did it for connection.

Intelligence is next. Not information, and not connectivity. The ability to know what is happening, why it matters, and what to do about it, before the moment passes.

Large companies have always had this. They have research teams, analysts, consultants and systems that watch the market on their behalf. A founder with a great idea, or the owner of a 12-person business, has none of it. They run on instinct, late nights and the hope that nothing important slipped by. There are roughly 400 million small businesses in the world, and most of them are running blind. The cost is real: by the sixth year, about half of new American businesses are gone.

Meanwhile, the industry is awash with AI, and almost all of it waits to be asked. It answers a question, drafts a paragraph, and sits quietly until you return with the next request. The conversation is about features: which model, which capability, which new button. Very little of it is about impact. The question that matters to a business owner is simpler and harder: what does this technology actually mean to me, on a Tuesday, when I have a business to run?

The gap has never been talent or ambition. It has been access. AI has finally made it possible to close it, and that is the whole reason SHAKE exists.

There is a name for what this is. For thirty-six years, the software that runs a business has been ERP, and its job is to record what already happened. What we are building is Agentic Resource Planning, ARP: software that understands what is happening, decides what should happen next, acts inside the authority you give it, and shows its work. ERP records the past. ARP acts on what comes next.

You will hear the ERP vendors say they are agentic now too, or new startups claiming they are "Agentic ERPs". It is worth being clear about the difference, because Agentic ERP and Agentic Resource Planning are not the same thing.

Think of the ledger every business keeps. For as long as there has been commerce, it has recorded what happened: what was bought, what was sold, what is owed. ERP is that ledger, made digital. Agentic ERP is the same ledger with a clerk standing beside it who can find an entry faster and fill in a form for you. The clerk is helpful. The book has not changed, and neither has what it can tell you.

ARP keeps that book, to the letter, because a business still needs a legal record it can stand behind. Then it opens a second one. Alongside the ledger of what happened, ARP keeps a ledger of what was done and what it was worth: every action taken on your behalf, the decision you approved, the supplier switched, the customer found, and the dollars each of those earned or saved. One book records the past. The other records value as it is being created, so you can see it, question it, and prove it. That second book is not a feature bolted onto ERP. It is a different way of planning a business, with the old book kept honest underneath.

ERP records the past. ARP acts on what comes next.

    What we believe

We are not new to AI, and we are not romantic about it. We have watched it work and watched it fail. These are the principles we hold ourselves to, and the ones you can hold us to.

    01

Intelligence should be affordable. If a Fortune 500 company can know it, a founder in her first year should be able to know it too, at a price that makes sense for her business, not theirs.

    02

AI extends human thinking. It does not replace it. The best decisions still come from people. Our job is to make sure those people are never the last to know, and never buried in work a machine should have handled.

    03

You stay in control, always. SHAKE recommends. You decide. Every action the system takes is tracked and explained, and nothing happens in your business without your approval.

    04

SHAKE has to justify its own value. You only pay when SHAKE begins creating value equal to or higher than your subscription price — if it doesn't create value, you don't pay anything. Not projected. Not potential. Real, documented value you can see for yourself.

What you can expect from us

SHAKE is built on a living graph of the real economy: businesses, suppliers, markets, regulations and the signals moving between them, updated as the world changes. Watching that graph is ShakeFM, our Business Foundation Models, trained on how business actually moves (transactions, prices, inventory, obligations, the flow of money between companies) rather than on the text of the internet. Every number SHAKE gives you traces back to the record it came from. And because the models are ours, sized to the job, our cost to you does not move when someone else's prices do.

If you are starting or running a business, SHAKE works while you sleep. It finds your next customer, catches the overcharge before the invoice clears, handles the work that never needed you, and puts each of those in front of you as a clear decision, ready for your yes or no.

Here is what that looks like. A supplier goes quiet, and SHAKE notices before you do. By the time you open your laptop, it has worked out which customer commitments are at risk, priced a second source against the two-week slip, and put one decision in front of you: switch, or wait. You say yes or no. By morning, the whole thing is in the ledger.

If you lead a large organization or a government, you get the same intelligence at scale, plus something new: agentic telemetry. Plainly, that means a live read on how your operations are actually responding to the market, and where they are not, so you can move faster than a quarterly review allows.

Most AI takes. It takes your time, your attention, your prompts, and hands back an answer to a question you had to think of first. SHAKE brings things to you. That is a give-and-take relationship, and the giving starts with us.

And it compounds. Every business that joins teaches the graph how the real economy moves, and every business on it benefits. What SHAKE knows in year three, no one could have taught it in year one.

We know AI is here. We have been living with it longer than most. SHAKE is our answer to the question that comes after: now that intelligence is possible for everyone, what does a business become?

    What comes next

The next great companies will not be the ones with the most people or the biggest budgets. They will be the ones whose thinking reaches furthest, because a partner they trust is carrying the rest. That is what we are building: a partner to your business that earns more of your trust each year, until the way you work has quietly changed.

We would be glad to have you with us. Come see what SHAKE already knows about your business at shakegraph.com.
